Coconut Oil
Benefits: Provides strong cleansing and a rich, bubbly lather. Can be drying in high amounts, but balanced here by tallow and olive oil.
Olive Oil
Benefits: Extremely conditioning and nourishing, adds a silky lather, and is gentle for sensitive skin. High in squalene, which helps retain moisture.
Peony Fragrance Oil
Benefits: Adds a soft, sweet floral scent (synthetic/nature-identical fragrance). Unlike essential oils, fragrance oils often have stronger, longer-lasting scents in soap.
Mica Powder
Benefits: A natural mineral-based colorant that gives the soap a subtle or shimmery hue (depending on the mica used). Non-toxic and skin-safe.
Sodium Hydroxide (Lye)
Essential for saponification (turning oils into soap). Fully reacts and neutralizes during curing, leaving no lye in the final product.
Distilled Water
Used to dissolve lye safely. Distilled water prevents impurities from interfering with the soap-making process.
